AVES (Association des Volontaires pour l’Environnement Sain)

Specialising in action research, technical support and assistance for local initiatives, A.V.E.S aims to combat poverty by improving basic social services and sound environmental management through voluntary and charitable work.

AVES works on programs whose objectives are to (i)  contribute to improving the living conditions of disadvantaged, marginalised and most vulnerable populations by giving them better access to basic social services; (ii) reinforce the idea of sound environmental management and disaster risk management,  thus emphasising DRR and CCA; (iii) facilitate the sharing of information, ideas, experiences and resources between other development structures; (iv) strengthen skills and capacities in community and participatory development; and (v) contribute to strengthening the capacity of populations to  promote themselves through the implementation of socio-community projects; and raising awareness of citizenship in order to become true actors for sustainable development.

To achieve this, AVES has set up projects to support its targets through its programs to combat pollutants and other waste. In agriculture, for example, it supports farmers in reducing their use of chemical inputs (pesticides and herbicides). Our organization supports local authorities in defining strategic priorities for regional development, taking into account the fight against waste and pollutants. It organizes advocacy actions in favor of policies to reduce and combat waste and other pollutants related to NDCs and the promotion of LT-LEDS.
